Sophia provides medical care to all children in the schools we support in Kenya and to children in their communities

Medical care and medical missions

Sophia provides medical care, including necessary hospitalisation, to the 4,000 children supported through our feeding programmes in 9 schools and the Makarios Children’s Home.

In partnership with the renowned Dutch organisation, Medical Checks for Children (MCC), we host an annual medical camp at each location. During these camps, children from all our schools undergo health check-ups, receive treatment, medication, and are referred to hospitals if required. The doctors also provide care to ill children in the community, with a focus on infants and toddlers in orphanages and children residing in rescue centers.

Year 2025 marks 17 years of our collaboration and to celebrate this occasion, we have created a short video showcasing the various schools, orphanages, prisons, and detention centers where we offer this important care and support.
